No one understands Africa and its challenges better than the people who live there.  That's why we hire local teachers and facilitators.  We provide the tools, the infrastructure and the support to make them effective.

In much of Africa, intelligent, capable people are held back because they didn't learn basic literacy skills as children.

In Uganda, where we are currently working, millions of adults lack basic reading and math skills.  The problem is particularly acute for women in rural areas.  Our programs teach basic reading and math, along with life skills such as health, entrepreneurship and home sanitation.
